I was born in a delightful small town in Kentucky not unlike the fictitious
“Rowan Springs” - home of Paisley Sterling, the heroine of
my mystery novels. After completing my graduate and postgraduate work at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, I worked as the Director of Medical Records at the newly built Holy Family Hospital until my new husband and I left for a year in Barcelona, Spain. Luis and I returned to Georgia and stayed until our two beautiful daughters were born and then moved again – this time to Caracas, Venezuela, where we spent fourteen wonderful and exciting years. When our family returned to the United States I resumed my interesting career in disease surveillance at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Writing is in my blood. My father published many short stories and poems in the popular magazines of the forties and fifties. My dream was to place my own works next to his on the bookshelf in the family library. The publication of Cemetery Silk and The Plague Doctor is the realization of that dream. There is plenty of room remaining on that bookshelf, and lots of mysteries waiting for Paisley to solve. I belong to Sisters In Crime, active member of MWA and the Romance Writer’s Association and the local Georgia chapters. I am also an associate member of the Florida Writer’s Association.
